India has warned Pakistan on Tuesday (September 03, 2025) on Tuesday (September 02, 2025) on more possibility of flooding in the Sutlej River (September 03, 2025). Due to continuous rains in the northern states, additional water has to be released from major dams.
He informed that these alerts have been sent to Islamabad through the Ministry of External Affairs on ‘Humanitarian Aadhaar’. India issued three alerts for a possible flood in Tawi River last week. Sources said that the warning issued on Tuesday is about the possible flooding in the Sutlej river on Wednesday.
India postponed Indus Water Treaty
In Punjab, Sutlej, Vyas and Ravi rivers and small seasonal rivers are in spate due to heavy rains in their catchment areas. India postponed regular exchange of hydropower data with Pakistan under the Indus Water Treaty after 26 people were killed in the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
India warns neighboring country
Sources said that despite the suspension, Pakistan has been made aware of the latest flood warning on a purely human ground to prevent loss of life and property. India has warned the neighboring country on the huge devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan.
