Guruvayur Devaswom has decided to perform a purification ritual on Tuesday (August 26, 2025) at the famous Guruvayur temple in Kerala. This decision has been taken after reports that Vlogger and former contestant of a reality show Jasmine Jafar washed their feet in the temple pond while making the reel.
Devaswom Administrator OB Arun Kumar said that all the rituals starting on August 20 will be performed on Tuesday. Devaswom took this decision on the advice of the temple tantra. Jafar allegedly shot a reel of the film from the temple pond on August 20 and posted it on social media.
‘Entry into the temple pond prohibited for non-Hindus’
Explain that the pond of the temple is a prohibited area for non-Hindus and Guruvayur Devaswom has described this act of him (Jasmine Jaffer) as a violation of the traditions of the temple. The administrator has filed a complaint with the police and demanded action against Vologue.
Kerala High Court banned reel around the temple premises
He said that there is a ban on making videos in the surrounding areas of the temple except for marriage ceremonies. The Kerala High Court has banned the reel around the temple complex. Asked whether Devaswom would ask Jafar to bear the expenses of purification rituals, on this question, the administrator said that initially this expense will be taken from the fund of Devaswom.
He said that after this, the next step will be taken according to the Devaswom law. In view of purification rituals, Devaswom has banned the entry of devotees to the temple on Tuesday.
