Whose pan is heavy in the Vice Presidential election, whose preparation? Learn what the story is telling the figures

The next Vice President of the country is to be held on Tuesday (September 9, 2025). For this, the voting process will go from 10 am to 5 pm in Parliament House. After this, the counting of votes will be done in the evening and the results will be declared.

All MPs have been sent a letter under the polling guideline, which mentions the sequence number of their names and a special number. On the basis of this number, MPs will be facilitated that they can easily know in which parts their names are recorded and in which order they have to go to vote.

MP will write marks on the basis of his preference

During the voting, MPs will be given a ballot paper, on which both candidates i.e. NDA -backed CP Radhakrishnan and opposition -backed B Sudarshan Reddy will be named. MPs can write 1 and 2 marks based on their preference.

However, most parties and coalition strategy is that they will support their favorite candidate using only 1 point and will not use 2. Also, the pen for writing the number will also be given by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat itself.

What does the current equation say?

In the Vice Presidential elections, a total of 782 MPs can vote in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and a majority of 391 votes is necessary to win. According to the current equation, the NDA already has the support of about 427 votes. The YSR Congress has also announced to support the NDA candidate.

At the same time, BJD (7 MPs) and BRS (4 MPs) have decided to stay away from the voting process. On the other hand, the opposition India block has around 324 votes. The number of MPs of NDA allies in 427 votes is almost as follows:

Sudarshan Reddy’s status in number game

Although the opposition leaders definitely persuade that the situation may not look strong in the number game of opposition candidate Sudarshan Reddy, but they hope that some MPs of NDA camp can cross-voting. The strategists of the opposition camp are trying to vote for their candidate only by giving ‘1’ marks, so that the votes can be stopped.

In view of the existing equations, NDA candidate Radhakrishnan’s pan is seen heavy. Although the opposition is keeping an eye on cross-voting and unexpected decisions of allies, it is certain that the next Vice President of the country will be found after this election.
